What's Included? — کیا کیا شامل ہے؟

UrduWriting.com کی مفت ورک شیٹس تمام 38 اردو حروف کے لیے دستیاب ہیں۔ ہر حرف کے لیے تصویری کارڈ اور لکھنے کی مشق شامل ہے — بالکل ایک حقیقی قاعدہ کتاب کی طرح۔

Our Learn Urdu Online platform provides free printable worksheets for all 38 Urdu letters. Each letter gets a full two-page spread — just like a real Urdu Qaida (primer book):

📄 Left Page: Picture & Word Cards

A large banner showing the current letter in beautiful Nastaliq font, the letter's English name, 2-3 example words with emoji illustrations and pronunciation buttons. This page helps children associate the letter with real words and objects.

📝 Right Page: Tracing & Writing Practice

Dotted tracing rows where the letter is printed lightly for children to trace over — this builds muscle memory. Below that, blank ruled lines (like a real Urdu notebook) for freehand writing practice. The heading reads "حرف لکھنے کی مشق" (Letter Writing Practice) and "خود لکھیں" (Write Yourself).

🖨️ All worksheets are free to print — no account, no payment, no watermark fees. Just open the Learn Urdu Online page, go to the Writing Practice tab, and click Print.

How to Access & Print — کیسے حاصل کریں

Getting your worksheets is simple — just 3 steps:

Step 1: Open the Tool

Go to urduwriting.com/learn-urdu-online.html — no account or download needed. Works on any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).

Step 2: Navigate to Writing Practice

Click the "✍️ لکھنے کی مشق" (Writing Practice) tab. You'll see a two-page book spread for the first letter (Alif). Use the Previous/Next buttons or type a page number to navigate to any letter.

Step 3: Print

Click the print button. You have three options: print both pages (picture + writing), print only the picture page, or print only the writing practice page. The printed sheet includes a subtle watermark for content protection.

For best results, use A4 paper in landscape orientation. The worksheets are designed for standard home printers.

Types of Worksheets — ورک شیٹس کی اقسام

1. Dotted Tracing Worksheets — نقطوں پر لکھنے کی مشق

بچے نقطوں پر حروف لکھ کر ان کی شکل یاد کرتے ہیں۔ یہ طریقہ دنیا بھر میں بچوں کو لکھنا سکھانے کے لیے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔

Children trace over lightly printed letters to learn the correct stroke patterns. This is the most proven method for teaching handwriting to young children. Available for all 38 letters.

2. Freehand Writing Lines — خود لکھنے کی مشق

Blank ruled lines where children write the letter on their own after tracing practice. The lines mimic a real Urdu notebook for authentic practice.

3. Picture Cards — تصویری کارڈز

Each letter has 2-3 associated picture cards showing Urdu words with emoji illustrations. These are perfect for vocabulary building and visual association. Print them as flashcards for classroom games.

4. Drawing Board Challenges

While not printable, the drawing board provides on-screen word challenges where children draw/write the word and get celebration animations (fireworks + emoji explosions) as rewards. Great for tablet users.

Who Are These For? — یہ کس کے لیے ہیں؟

👶 Preschool (Ages 3-5)

Start with picture cards for letter recognition. Children at this age may not be ready for tracing but will love the colorful images and emoji illustrations.

✏️ Kindergarten (Ages 5-6)

Perfect for dotted tracing practice. Print 2-3 letters per week and build a complete alphabet workbook over a few months.

📖 Primary School (Ages 6-10)

Use tracing sheets as warm-ups, then move to freehand writing. Combine with Jor Tor word building to transition from individual letters to words and sentences.

👨‍🏫 Teachers & Schools

Print worksheets for the entire class at no cost. Use picture cards for classroom display walls. The structured progression (letters to tracing to writing to word building) provides a ready-made curriculum.

🏠 Homeschooling Parents

A complete Urdu writing curriculum without buying expensive textbooks. Combine the printed worksheets with the interactive online tool for a blended learning approach. See our complete guide to teaching Urdu to kids at home.

🌍 Diaspora Families

Families in UK, US, Canada, UAE, and Europe who want their children to learn Urdu. No need to find Urdu bookshops abroad — just print from home. The bilingual interface (Urdu + English) means even parents who can't read Nastaliq can guide their children.

How to Use Effectively — مؤثر استعمال

📅 Daily Routine

Assign 1-2 letters per week. Print the worksheets on Monday, practice tracing daily (10 minutes), and do a review quiz on Friday using the audio flashcards.

🔄 See → Hear → Trace → Write

Follow this order for each letter: first see the picture card, then hear the pronunciation (online), then trace the dotted letter, and finally write it freehand. This multi-sensory approach helps all learning styles.

📊 Track Progress

Keep a simple chart on the wall showing which letters your child has mastered. Celebrate milestones (completing all 38 letters is a big deal!). For older children, use the Urdu Word Counter to track daily writing output.

🧩 Level Up to Words

Once 10-15 letters are known, start using the Jor Tor module alongside letter practice. This maintains motivation by showing children that their letter knowledge translates into real words.

⌨️ Transition to Typing

When children are comfortable with handwriting (usually ages 8+), introduce our Urdu Writer with its phonetic keyboard. Typing reinforces reading and spelling in a modern, practical way.
